Tell me a story about worship

I’ve been thinking some about worship recently.

If you would like to share, I invite you to do so.

Describe a worship service or experience that was powerful for you? Even better, reflect a bit on why it was powerful.

  1. Worship needs to have the element of solidarity, providing solace and security for those in spiritual darkness. It must also have an element of freshness, for those in spiritual doldrums. There are so many excellent liturgies, songs, worship activities developed by talented people, a local congregation need not try to re-invent. Worship must also confront sin, lead the sinner to acknowledge and repent. Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue.

  2. When I sing #593 – “Here I Am” – I am many times overwhelmed by the words, if for no reason it is a reminder that I have answered the call from Christ to be His representative.

And there are times when I have preached that I know that the Holy Spirit has come into that sanctuary. I cannot predict those times nor do I try to make it happen.
