Hope for the future

My daughter posted her final thoughts on Kenda Dean’s book Almost Christian.

If you are looking for signs of hope in the next generation, she has some good news for you.

There’s light in young people – enough to fill up the world. I’ve sat in committee meetings where adults shudder at the thought of the iGen someday taking the reins. But we’re ready. Let us do God’s work while we’re still naive enough to believe we can. God works in youth, sometimes in ways the nice polite church doesn’t fancy. We’ll tear down walls with love; we’ll melt hearts with forgiveness. Just give us the chance. None of us are perfect. We will make mistakes, just like you do. But mistakes are not a result of age.
