How do we know if the church is alive?

I was reading up on basic biology, which gave me a useful list of traits of living things.
Movement – they sense and react to external stimuli
Reproduction – they make more of themselves and pass on their traits
Growth and Development – they change over time
Organization – their parts fit together in complex ways
Metabolism – they acquire energy from outside themselves
Homeostasis – they maintain a dynamic but steady internal environment
This is an interesting list. How does your church look on this list? How does the life of your own spirit look?
