Never mind the hammering; it’s just the idol elves at work

Henry Neufeld has his eyes on the idols we church people are so good at building. Theories of the atonement, versions of the Bible, musical instruments, and so much else becomes the object of our worship.

I particularly like this little observation:

People frequently paint pictures of God from the theological prose of the Bible that contradict the God who appears in the stories.
